Are you thinking of having a hostess for your charter vacation?
Considering Hiring a Hostess for Your Charter Vacation?
Here’s What You Need to Know
Charter vacations are a fantastic way to unwind and relax, but planning the details of your trip can be time-consuming and overwhelming. If you’re thinking of hiring a hostess for your next sailing adventure, you’re in luck! We have some valuable tips to help you make an informed decision.
Having an exceptional hostess on board can enhance the relaxation of your sailing holiday. Here are some of the ways that a hostess can assist you:
Arrival
When you arrive at the marina, the hostess will be there to greet you along with the skipper. They will help you with the check-in process and inspect the accommodation and galley facilities. Additionally, they will prepare welcome drinks and snacks and give you a daily schedule of meals and snacks.
Provisioning without APA:
Clients can arrange their own provisioning through various websites, with delivery to the yacht. Alternatively, clients can accompany the hostess on a trip to a local supermarket for groceries.
Provisioning with APA:
If you choose to use APA (Advanced Provisioning Allowance), Adriatic Sailing will provide you with a Provisioning list to fill out. They will use the APA amount to pay for all provisions, which will be on the boat upon arrival. You are able to fill the list with all the details you wish during your charter week.
Meals:
The hostess will serve breakfast and lunch, which may include warm dishes like pasta, salads, and risotto, along with refreshing drinks. They will plan the menu according to your preferences, such as vegetarian, vegan, or food intolerances.
Cleanliness/Safety:
A hostess will ensure the daily cleaning of toilets and cabins and clean dishes after each meal. This ensures that you can enjoy a clean and safe environment while on board.
What is the cost of hiring a hostess for your charter vacation?
The cost of hiring a hostess for your yacht crew is typically influenced by two factors: the size of the yacht and the experience level. For a hostess, you can expect to pay around 140 to 190 EUR per day.
It’s important to note that this fee does not cover the meals. You can either include your hostess in your meal plans or allocate an additional 30 EUR, per day for their food expenses.
Lastly, keep in mind that gratuity is not included in this fee. Tipping is customary and serves to show appreciation for exceptional service.

What are the sleeping arrangements for the hostess during the charter vacation?
To ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience when chartering a yacht with a hostess and skipper, it’s highly recommended to opt for a yacht that already has separate crew cabins.
If the yacht’s layout doesn’t include dedicated crew accommodation, it’s conventional to leave one cabin for the hostess.
Ensure that the crew has enough time to rest, as this is crucial for them to deliver their best service and provide you with an exceptional experience. When the crew is well-rested, they can fully attend to your needs and provide you with personalized and attentive service.
