Regulations, obligations and procedures for crossing the border
Latest COVID-19 UPDATES
Here are the latest updates regarding the recommendations and instructions for crossing the state border of Croatia (valid as of April 1, 2021)
Travelers coming for tourism reasons (from all countries except South Africa, Zanzibar and Brasil) are allowed to enter Croatia, provided that they qualify under one of the approved categories:
- A negative viral test result: PCR or rapid antigen test (of acceptable antigen tests) not older than 48 hours (counting from the time of taking the test to arriving at the border crossing point). Travelers entering Croatia with a rapid antigen test and staying longer than 10 days must repeat the test within ten days of the original test.
- A certificate of vaccination (any vaccine) for persons whose final dose of the COVID-19 vaccine is more than 14 days prior to crossing the border.
- A medical certificate confirming that the traveler has recovered from COVID-19 after having a positive PCR or rapid antigen test result. The certificate is valid from the 11th to 180th day after the positive test result.
- Perform PCR testing or rapid antigen testing immediately upon arrival to Croatia (at the traveler’s own expense), with the obligation to stay in self-isolation until receiving a negative test result. If testing cannot be performed, travelers must self-isolate for a period of 10 days.
IMPORTANT:
*Additional requirement only for tourists coming from NON-EU (third countries): documentary evidence of an accommodation paid in advance and in full, prior to arrival at the border (the accommodation reservation alone is not sufficient for entry).
Travelers from South Africa, Brasil and Zanzibar are required to present a negative PCR test result not older than 48 hours and are required to carry out mandatory self-isolation for 14 days. The duration of self-isolation may be shortened if the person, at the earliest on the seventh day of self-isolation, performs PCR testing for SARS-CoV-2 at his own expense in the institution authorized to perform the test and if the test result is negative.
All travelers who meet the entry conditions are advised to fill out an arrival form at Enter Croatia in advance to facilitate their entry at the border.
